The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists (BOAS) has warned since the 1940’s it is elementary information that the presence of city/country destroying nuclear weapons is the most serious environmental threat to Earth. In 2014 there are nearly 12,000 nuclear weapons on our threatened Earth, most in US and Russian arsenals. In November 2004 Pentagon planners warned President George Bush in frank terms – “Global warming is a greater threat than terrorism.”

The US Department of Defense is the single largest user of oil in the world. The CIA Global Fact book of 2006 estimated only 35 (out of 210) countries consume more oil per day than the Pentagon. A global empire demands fuel for ships, planes, tanks, vehicles of our Defense Department.

How myopic of Defense Department and US government leaders to exclude the Pentagon from all global climate agreements.

We cannot presume that Earth is too big to survive abuse and threats from humankind.

Paleontologist Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1888-1950) through numerous writings wisely tried to open our eyes: “The day is not far distant when humanity will biologically realize we are faced between a choice of adoration or suicide.”
