Emperor/philosopher Cicero observed – “Not to know what happened before you were born is to remain a child forever.”

April 10th Vice President Pence warned about the presence of a small group of Russians in Venezuela. With unusual “gringo” bravado Mr. Pence blustered – “This is our neighborhood!”

Were US war ships invited to the Black Sea which is clearly within boundaries of Turkey and Russia?

Latin America was liberated from European colonial domination by Simon Bolivar (1783-1830) the “George Washington” of our neighbors to the south. He was called El Libertador (The Liberator)

While living in an impoverished area of Barinas, Venezuela in the 1980’s, I strolled by a humble home with a painting of Bolivar on the wall. Below the image of Bolivar were the words: “I fear that the Estados Unidos (USA) will be the enemy of Latin America for decades to come – all in the name of freedom.”

USA intervention was most brutal in Guatemala in the 1950’s and later in Chile where the first “9/11” occurred with Salvador Allende’s overthrow by the CIA. “LA CIA” is feared throughout Central and Latin America.

Mr. Pence is invited to emulate the 1967 Treaty of Tlatelolco which bans the presence of nuclear weapons in Latin/Central America and the Caribbean.

July 7, 2017 – 130 of 195 countries in the United Nations voted to abolish nuclear weapons. The USA refused to participate in the gathering for abolition of atomic weapons. All nations which reject the abolition momentum are simply “rogue states.”
