In this election year how many money-begging candidates for the Oval Office have pondered the wisdom of Admiral Noel Gaylor (1914-2011) who served in the US Navy for 45 years? Gaylor was once in charge of the USA CINPAC (Commander-in-Chief-Pacific) based in Honolulu. From Camp H.M. Smith, CINPAC controlled ¾ of our endangered planet through nuclear submarines that “roam and patrol.”
To the chagrin of our Department of Defense officials, Gaylor became one of the leading advocates of nuclear weapons abolition. Hiroshima Remembrance day, August 6, 1984, he addressed a full auditorium in Philadelphia’s Haverford College: “The day we dropped an atomic bomb on Japan, we made ourselves completely insecure. The day we detonated a Hydrogen bomb we made ourselves 1000 times more insecure. The only defense against nuclear weapons is to stop building them!” Everyone in the audience rose for a thundering three minute applause.
The 75-page Project for a New American Century (PNAC) clearly aims for total US domination of land, ocean, air and outer space. Several of the 2016 hopefuls manifest their support for US global domination. A 2014 Gallup poll taken among 60,000 people in 66 nations concluded the USA is the most fearsome nation in the world, outranking North Korea. Which world leader will gain the ignominious title of becoming the head of state to use atomic/nuclear weapons the third time?
J. Robert Oppenheimer was one of several remorseful designers of the atomic bomb who warned, “The next world war will be fought with dozens, perhaps hundreds of nuclear weapons.”
United Nations leaders perceived nuclear weapons could terminate history. Despite all five Security Council members (Britain, China, France, Russia, and USA) hypocritical possessors of nuclear weapons, voted for UN Resolution 1653, issued in 1961, that condemned any nation that would “commit a crime against civilization and humankind” by using nuclear weapons. The II Vatican Council followed in 1962 by denouncing the city/country destroying weapons. (The Church in the Modern World, paragraph 89).
90% of 16,000 nuclear weapons in 2015 are in Russian (7,700) and US (7,100) arsenals followed by France (300), China (260), Britain (225), Pakistan (130), India (120), Israel (80) and North Korea (8).
Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR) and International Physicians for Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNY), together with Australian pediatrician Dr. Helen Caldecott are aware of the suicidal number of weapons since the Cold War Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD) era who examine our insecure period of history from a medical perspective.
With lingering historical awareness of thousands who were burned in WWII firebombing along with Hiroshima and Nagasaki, physicians ask: “HOW MANY BURN UNITS DO YOU HAVE?” The USA had over 1000 targets in the former USSR, even though there were only 200 cities with one million people.
The “Henry Hub” which controls half of US energy supplies is from Erath, LA. It was one of the top ten KGB targets. The USA in 2016 had just 127 burn units with only one in Lafayette, four in Louisiana. Which “totally insecure” 2016 presidential candidate “FEELS THE BURN”???
